The Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) and Volkswagen share a history together from the end of the Second World War and the intervention of a young British Army officer whose actions changed the future of the fledgling giant of European motoring.
The REME Museum's latest temporary exhibition 'The Major and the Beetle', together with a new permanent exhibit of Ivan Hirst's 1949 Model Beetle and the 'Beetle Seat' from Volkswagen Service Factory AG are now on show.
